Heritage Teacher Awarded 2019 Bright Ideas Grant

Earlier this school year, Heritage faculty members Mrs. M.E. Farmer and Mrs. Julie Landers worked collaboratively to write a science grant for Heritage Christian Academy. On Monday, October 14, 2019, Mrs. Julie Landers, Class Four and Five science teacher, was visited by the Bright Ideas Grant Patrol and was awarded a Bright Ideas science grant from Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperatives (MCEC) in the amount of $915! MCEC selects and awards grants every October to educators who have innovative ideas for classroom projects. Mrs. Landers will use the awarded funds to complete a hands-on plant investigation unit with students this school year. Students will use Wisconsin Fast Plants to design, create, and investigate the characteristics of plants using grow lights, classroom greenhouses, soil testing, and more! Congratulations, ladies, on a job well done!
